How to build self confidence

Easy Ways to Build Self Confidence

How to build self confidence- You walk into a room without knowing what you want. What happens? You not only walk out with a failed deal but also with low self esteem. However, do not beat yourself over it. It happens to the wisest of professionals and the most renowned leaders. Everyone has their days where they are unconfident, or under the weather and are not sure of how to go about certain things both professionally and personally. Nevertheless, what matters is how do you overcome these days by yourself and strive to be a better version of yourself the next day.

This is where confidence building plays a role. Numerous leaders have come forward and talked about it and numerous writers have written about it. However, what is it that these professionals or renowned personalities want us to know as a whole?

Confidence Building Techniques

Believe in yourself

You cannot keep selling yourself short and doubting your capabilities. With every task you take up at any point in life, step into it with the “I can do whatever I set my mind to” attitude. Do not mistake this for overconfidence because as Stewart Stafford said, confidence is when you believe in yourself and your abilities, arrogance is when you think you are better than others and act accordingly.

Get tasks done

Confidence comes from standing up to your expectations before anyone else’s. Actions speak louder than words and once you start getting things done on your own, you will have proofs of your skillset.

Maintain a to-do list

We have been told about the relevance and results of a to-do list ever since we were kids but how many of us have actually gone ahead and followed this religiously? A to-do list makes it easier for one to track their progress and remember what are the tasks that they are capable of executing on a regular. Striking off the tasks that you finish not only gives you a sense of accomplishment but mostly fills you up with the confidence to get more things done. Rober Staubach rightly said that confidence comes from hours and days and weeks and years of constant work and dedication.

Speak for yourself

It is a well-known fact that not everyone you meet will be open to constructive criticism, but every good leader will be. Whether it is a meeting or an intellectually stimulating conversation, remember to express your opinion. The worst that will happen is someone will contradict you or tell you that you are wrong. However, that should not become an impediment in you speaking out about what you know and what you
feel. You might just take away something helpful from the conversation that you otherwise wouldn’t have.

Remember that people talk

You cannot keep everyone happy, you are not supposed to. No matter what you do and what you say, there will always be a person unhappy with it. Not everyone will agree with what you say and not everyone will be appreciative of your personality. However, not everyone is paying your bills either and not everyone is unconditionally there for you. Remind yourself that at the end of the day you are only
accountable for yourself. So think for yourself and do what makes you happy. Make self-satisfaction your topmost goal. Executive Presence

These tips go a long way in helping one build their confidence and remember what they are capable of each time the people around might try to make them believe otherwise. Everyone witnesses failures but do not let them make your dreams and aspirations take a backseat. Every new day is an opportunity to do better.
